Profile of Mr. Kazi Abdul Hannan
Mr. Kazi Abdul Hannan was born in 1971 into a distinguished Muslim family in Chauddagram Upazila of Cumilla District, Bangladesh.
He passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination in 1987 and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination in 1989 with distinction. He then enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the University of Dhaka, where he obtained both his LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. degrees. In 1998, he successfully qualified in the 18th Bangladesh Civil Service (Judicial) Examination and commenced his judicial career as an Assistant Judge in Habiganj District.
Throughout his long and distinguished judicial career, he has served with integrity and professionalism in various capacities, including Assistant Judge, Senior Assistant Judge, Joint District and Sessions Judge, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Additional District and Sessions Judge, District and Sessions Judge, and Inspector General of Registration. During his tenure, he served with distinction in several important stations across the country, including Habiganj, Chattogram, Pabna, Moulvibazar, Barguna, Noakhali, Sunamganj, Sylhet, Munshiganj, and Dhaka.
He rendered exemplary service as the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sylhet, the District and Sessions Judge of Munshiganj, and the Inspector General of Registration under the Registration Department of Bangladesh.
On 1 July 2026, he assumed office as the District and Sessions Judge of Chattogram. His extensive judicial experience, outstanding administrative leadership, unwavering integrity, and steadfast commitment to the rule of law and the administration of justice have earned him wide recognition and respect within the judiciary.
